Options for Gen 1 Instrument Cluster Screens.

If you have a Model S that was built before 2015, then you more than likely have the first Generation of Instrument Cluster. What does that mean? Well that’s probably how you found this, you were searching for something along the lines of “instrument cluster bubble, Tesla Model S Screen leak”, and that is because almost every screen eventually leaks, and looks terrible. Unfortunately, the early Model S’s with the Gen 1 instrument clusters don’t have an easy, cheap solution to remedy this. Some individuals have spent over 10 hours removing the glue, and reapplying the glass, others deal with it, some take it to Tesla and upgrade to the new Gen 2 screen (over $1500 from Tesla), and now, finally Reel Deal EV will be offering brand new Gen 1 screens.

Gen 1 screens are 480p resolution while Gen 2 screens are 1080p.

You cannot simply buy a Gen 2 screen to install into your Gen 1 car, the screens are not compatible, and if you swap the whole assembly, it will need to be reprogrammed by us or Tesla.
